This clip is an extension of a video installation work called ‘Dissolving Self’.
We wanted to create a clip completely in camera with no special effects. All materials were hand made; sculpted, moulded and cast from life or small 3D models we created in the studio.
Thematically we wanted to explore with how time, scale and material can be experienced through video by using a combination of time-lapse, slow motion videography and using the base materials of clay and water. And we wanted to create a video that amplified the sentiment of the song it was coupled with.
The song Can’t Keep Waiting is about gathering the courage to be honest with yourself. It’s about letting go of all that is safe and familiar in life in order to evolve and grow. In that journey one experiences a coming home to oneself.
